SEMICAPS Celebrates 25th Anniversary

SEMICAPS, a technology spin-off company from the National University of Singapore held a dinner at the Suntec International Convention & Exhibition Centre on 1st July 2014 to celebrate its 25th Anniversary. SEMICAPS designs and manufactures highly sophisticated microscopes for the semiconductor industry which are used to locate faults within an integrated circuit (IC, or popularly called chips). Over the last 25 years of technical advancement, we have grown to become the world’s leading fault localisation equipment company. Top semiconductor companies worldwide use our machines for their semiconductor analysis and diagnosis activities. Our progress is the result of the R&D effort from our talented team as well as their understanding of the needs of the semiconductor industry. Collaboration with CICFAR also added to our advantage.

Mr Lim Hng Kiang, Minister for Trade and Industry, Singapore attended the event as the Guest of Honour and spoke about the importance of growing high technology SMEs to strengthen the competitiveness of Singapore’s economy. In his speech, Mr Lim said that the success of home- grown companies like SEMICAPS is key to Singapore’s sustainable economic growth by helping to anchor technological capabilities and contributing to the shift towards higher value-added activities.

About 70 staff, customers (e.g. GlobalFoundries, Qualcomm, AMD, etc), partners and invited guests attended the dinner.
