SEMICAPS CORPORATE PROFILE

• SEMICAPS' pioneering expertise can be traced back to 1989 when through Image Transforms, we introduced the first batch of Scanning Electron Microscope Image Processing Systems into the market. Invented by a team of lecturers at the Center for Integrated Circuit Failure Analysis and Reliability (CICFAR) at the National University of Singapore (NUS), the system revolutionized the way electron images were captured, analyzed and manipulated. It became and still is the industry benchmark that other competitive products were measured against.

• SEMICAPS launched Cathodoluminescence (CL) System in 1995, SEMICAPS Photon Emission Microscope System (SPEMS) in 1997 and SEMICAPS Scanning Optical Microscope (SOM) in 2000. CL has acquired 3 United States patents to this date. In March 1998, SPEMS received its first patent for its ellipsoidal mirror for Spectroscopic Photon Emission Microscope. SPEMS also won the Innovators Award from The Institution of Engineers Singapore in 1996 and the latest SOM 1005 System was recently launched at the 2000 IEEE Integrated Reliability Physics Symposium held in San Diego, California, USA.

We believe in the power of a team and are therefore in continuous collaboration with CICFAR which provided the original technology, and customers on projects to seek greater refinement in techniques and instrumentation.
